Office 2003 to Office 2007 for employees

As part of the conversion from the Office 2003 to the Office 2007 suite, we will be installing a small Microsoft utility on all employee machines over the next few days. This will be done over the network and will require no intervention on the part of most users.
With this utility you will now have a way to open documents created in Office 2007 using your current 2003 environment. The utility will self-install the next time you reboot/power-on your Windows 2000 or XP computer.
As mentioned in our newsletter, the long-term plan is to convert all employees over to the 2007 suite but that will take some time. The newsletter also has a link to Microsoft in case you want to install the utility on your home computer.
Please note: If you are sharing Access files, do not upgrade them to the 2007 version. The provided utility will not be able to make them readable for 2003 users. All other Office 2007 applications will now be useable in 2003.
In the event that you need the utility and find it is not present or working correctly, contact the Help Desk by email or call 5330.
