Off-campus access login to the Library databases. Also Library Accounts.

The off-campus access login to the Library databases has changed and students and employees now need to enter their student or employee ID number rather than their barcode. This is a nine digit number found on student/employee cards.Employees need to have the new colour employee card or find the nine-digit employee number at the top of their pay advice. This is the same number used to access myDouglas.

As a result, we are now able to block access to the databases from off campus when a student record has expired, but this does not include Patron 2 & 3 (employees).
If you receive any calls from students who can't access the databases, please first make sure they are using their Student number rather than their barcode. If that is not the problem than ask them to log on to "My Library Account" and look at the date underneath their name. If they are not attending school this semester than their record will show the expired date and you can explain that due to licensing restrictions on the databases only current students have access.

We have changed the way patrons log on to their library record, place holds, and access the databases from off campus. They now enter their student/employee number(Patron ID field in Milcirc.) rather than their barcode number.
