Online renewal of books - problems

Students have sometimes reported problems renewing their library material online, either in the library or at home. They sign on to their account and then when they click on a button they return to the sign on screen. The reason for this is that their internet browser is not accepting cookies.
t appears that we have this problem at the express catalogue stations. If a student reports this happening in the library, please find out what station they are using and if it is the express stations then direct them to the public computers. If they are at home then let them know to accept cookies. Typically it is under the Privacy tab and then advanced button. If it isn't possible to change the browser setting on the express stations using kiosk mode then we'll have to put a sign at the stations letting students know they can't renew their material there.
